About Rachael Martin, MS, RDN, LD, CEDS

Rachael has been working in the nutrition field for over three decades.  She has a passion for helping individuals find peace in their bodies and with food.   Whether it be eating disorders or issues, moving toward fitness or weight goals, or a woman finding her way through midlife and beyond, she will come alongside you to navigate change with you.  

Rachael works with most nutrition related conditions and concerns, and also with wellness nutrition.  

Her primary areas of focus include:

Approach

Rachael works from a stance that is trauma-informed, holds to non-diet interventions, body-accepting, vegan and vegetarian inclusive.

Training and Experience 

Rachael received her Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Arizona, where she did original research in the area of eating disorders assessment.   Her dietetic internship was through Carondelet St.  Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ.  She holds an additional Master’s Degree from the University of  Pittsburgh, (Pittsburgh, PA) in Information Science, with a concentration in Research.  She is also a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).  

Rachael has worked with eating disorders at all levels of care, including inpatient, IOP, outpatient, as well as in a general psychiatric hospital setting.  She also served in a student health setting at the University of Arizona, where she worked extensively with the Dance Department, with student athletes, and facilitated food and body image issues support groups.  In addition to her eating disorders work, Rachael taught in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Oakwood University, Huntsville AL, and also served in their Distance Dietetic Internship Program.  In addition she worked for IAEDP where she supported the U.S. Chapters.   She has been in private practice in Huntsville, AL since 2012.   Additionally, Rachael is a veteran homeschool mom, having graduated two daughters, who were educated exclusively at home.
